MONOFRESH (former Prince G) grew up in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. At the age of 13 he started to play drums in church for gospel choirs. By the time he reached the age of 15 he started to express himself through hip hop music.
As Prince G got older he tried to develop himself as a MC/lyricist. He started a rap group called GNM together with two friends (two MC's and one DJ). The multi talented individuals had their own unique part in this group from beatmaking, writing, scratching, mixing and recording.
As GNM got better in creating music they wanted their music to be heard. The group tried to compete in Dutch hip hop competitions, winning almost every one and had a strong fanbase throughout the Netherlands at that time. The result was that GNM became very popular with promoters and received requests to perform all over the country.
After some time the group broke up and decided to work on their solo missions and Prince G changed his name into MONOFRESH. He received his degree in audio engineering. So he started to mix music for independent artists and flew out numerous times to Tokyo/Japan to work with indie game developers as a sound designer.
He further developed his craft and became versatile in music production. A smooth region of authentic measurement with melodic intensity is how you can describe the sound of MONOFRESH.
